Postdoctoral Researchers in Galaxy Evolution, Radio Interferometry and Theoretical Cosmology (3 positions) Salary: £27,428 - £30,870 Reference: 10002606 Closing date: 31st August 2011 The Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (ICG) intends to appoint three new postdoctoral researchers (fixed term contracts for 2 years) to support its international research in the Faculty of Technology at the University of Portsmouth. The ICG is advertising for researchers to participate in: 1.    Galaxy evolution studies based primarily on the analysis and/or interpretation of data from the forthcoming Dark Energy Survey (DES) and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III (SDSS-III). This researcher is expected to have strong skills in scientific computing as well as experience handling large datasets. The ICG consists of 11 academic staff, 13 postdoctoral researchers and 18 PhD students, and is a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-III), the Dark Energy Survey, the UK Low Frequency Array (LOFAR:UK) and the UK National Cosmology Supercomputer Consortium (COSMOS). The University of Portsmouth is a member of the South-East Physics Network (SEPnet) and hosts the 1000-core SEPnet-ASTRO supercomputer (SCIAMA).
