ICG students and researchers are participating in an event at the Spinnaker tower next week to encourage children to think about what they want to be when they grow up. Details below and [http://www.spinnakertower.co.uk/whats-on/12-05-29/aim_high_for_the_summer.aspx on the Spinnaker Tower website].
What do you want to be? From Aug 13-16th, children who visit the Spinnaker Tower dressed as whatever they want to be when they grow up, can visit for free when accompanied by a full paying adult! (One free child per full paying adult. Child must be dressed up with at least two items of costume representing what they want to be e.g. Doctor could be represented by white coat and stethoscope.)
On August 13th and 14th: Be an astronomer for the day (brought to you by ICG)! Build your own universe and find out how astronomers are working out what happened after the Big Bang. See how a telescope works and see if can see any sunspots using our special eclipse shades.
There are going to be thirteen different ICG members participating over the two days, from post-docs through to visiting PhD students and summer placement A-Level students.
