Schools outreach

The ICG regularly run events and provide activities for schools, both on campus at the university and on site at schools. If you are a teacher who is interested in our outreach offerings then please contact the ICG Outreach Officer, Dr Jen Gupta (jennifer.gupta 'at' port.ac.uk). Cosmology Masterclass

Target audience: Key Stage 5 (AS/A2 students)

The Cosmology Masterclass is a half-day of activities for A-level students designed to compliment the cosmology and astrophysics on the A-level syllabus. It is held yearly on campus but can also be brought to colleges in the local area (e.g. the Isle of Wight) if there is a large enough audience. The next Cosmology Masterclass at the university is expected to be held in the Spring term 2014.

A Visit from Space

Target audience: Key stage 2

A Visit from Space is a new outreach programme from the ICG aimed at primary school children. It consists of a morning of astronomy-related talks and activities and takes place at the school. Please contact Dr Jen Gupta (details above) if you are interested in A Visit from Space coming to your school (Portsmouth area only).
